An Austrian native (sharing his heritage with the likes of Mozart and Arnold S.), Dieter Frank has studied and taught classical, jazz and contemporary guitar both overseas and in the United States for over 25 years. During this time, Dieter has also provided music (and lyrics) for films and theater, bands and solo artists in Austria and the United States.

Dieter was founding member of and arranger for the Bowling Green State University guitar ensemble, BGSU Guitars, under Chris Buzzelli between 1984 and 1988.

In 1999, Dieter fully equipped his digital studio in Chicago and started working full time as composer, sound designer, lyricist, and songwriter.

From 1999 to 2003, Dieter was a member of the New Tuners Musical Theatre Workshop at the Theater Building Chicago under John Sparks. Dieter is a current member of IFP (Independent Feature Project) since 1999.
